John Kostka

John R. Kostka, 60, Milwaukee, passed away on Thursday, September, 13, 2012. He was born in Dekalb, IL. on September 28, 1951, the son of John F. and Joan (Mickey) Kostka. John graduated from Guilford High School and Southern Illinois University earning a Bachelors Degree. He later attended graduate school at Alverno College. John married Patricia Kilcoyne in Milwaukee on September 20, 1986. John and Patty loved to travel near and far and recently celebrated their 25 th anniversary with a wonderful trip to Quebec. John was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman, and was known to go camping with his canoe on top of his Cadillac. John enjoyed good music and good books all his life. He especially enjoyed studying military history, world cultures and culinary arts and of course he was a loyal Green Bay Packers fan. John was a good, kind and loving man. He loved his wife, his son and all his family. He had a lifelong brotherhood of friends as dear as family too. His memory will live on as we go on. His body has found a peaceful rest and his soul eternal joy and peace.Survivors include his wife Patricia; son, Brian of Milwaukee; Father John F. Kostka of Rockford; sister Mary Kay (Charles) Thorne of Rockford; sister Maureen (Tim) Kelley; nephew Austin Kelley and niece Kiara Kelley of Barrington, IL; aunts, Mary and Betty, Uncle Robbie, numerous cousins and friends. Predeceased by his mother Joan KostkaMass of Christian Burial will be at 10am Tuesday September 18, 2012 in Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation from 5pm until 7pm Monday with recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m.September 17, 2012 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Visitation also from 9a.m. until service time, Tuesday in the church.
