John “Jack” F. Krajewski, 93, of Lake Summerset, Davis, Illinois, passed away peacefully in his home with his family at his side. Jack was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa on August 22, 1922; to parents, Casimir and Marcella (Donahue) Krajewski. He was raised in Dubuque, Iowa, and attended Loras Academy and Loras College. Jack enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corp on March 1, 1943 and proudly served his country until March 1, 1946. He returned to Loras College earning his Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1949. Jack started his career at his father’s architectural firm in Chicago, Illinois. He subsequently served at architectural firms Fugard, Orth, & Associates, and Donohue & Associates.
Jack married Dolores “Dee Dee” Therese Noviski on November 24, 1951, in Marion, Indiana. They lived and raised their four children in Hinsdale, Illinois; where Jack was active at St. Isaac Jogues Church, Knights of Columbus, Little League Baseball, Boy Scouts of America, and the Elks Club. He retired from Donohue & Associates on August 8, 1988. Jack and Dee Dee moved to Lake Summerset on June 1, 1989. He was active at Lake Summerset on several association committees, as well as an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Decatur Lake Country Club, where he was fortunate enough to have gotten two hole in one’s!
Jack is survived by his wife, Dolores; his sister, Sue Crowely; three sons, Cliff Krajewski, Casey (Vilija) Krajewski, and Paul Krajewski; as well as 7 grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his parents, brother, Bob Krajewski; sister, Mary White; daughter, Judy Henderson; daughter in-law, Amy Krajewski; and granddaughter, Lidija Krajewski. Cremation Rights will be accorded.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, April 30, 2016; at St. Mary Catholic Church, 606 W. Main St., Durand, IL, 61024; with visitation and lunch immediately following the service at Church. Committal service to follow at St. Patrick Cemetery, in Irish Grove. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be given to Monroe Clinic Hospice or to St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Durand.
