John “Jack” Gazouski, 69, of South Beloit, IL passed away July 23, 2019 at University Hospital in Madison after an extended illness, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Rockford, IL February 11, 1950, the son of Anton and Marion (Condron) Gazouski. Jack married Cheryl (Stinson) Gazouski on April 23, 1983.
Jack was a man of many talents, a master carpenter, plumber, and handyman. The work that made him happiest involved building and fixing things. The times he treasured most were family vacations “Up North.” He loved catching fish, giving boat rides, and playing pranks. All who knew him will never forget his joyful laugh.
Jack is survived by his devoted wife Cheryl, his son Rick (Michelle) Lyons, Grandsons Zack and Nate Lyons, Sisters-in-law Paula (Bruce) Eklund, Kathi (Steve) Schwitters, Debbie (Wayne) Dunsheath, special friends Wayne (Penny) Richardson and family, and numerous nieces and nephews; his “four legged children”, Nicki, Sophie, Sparky and Maggie. Preceded in death by niece Darcie Eklund.
A celebration of life will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, August 4, 2019 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd, Rockford, IL 61108. The family encourage friends and family to share stories of Jack during the celebration. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family.
