John J. Reynolds, 76, of Machesney Park, passed away Friday, June 19, 2015 at Divine Savior Hospital in Portage, Wisconsin. Born December 10, 1938, in Rockford, the son of John E. and Lillian K. (McGuire) Reynolds. John worked in machine setup at National Lock for many years and retired from ITW Shakeproof. He spent 50 years with his best friend and the love of his life, his wife, Betty (Guymon). John loved fishing and hunting; he spent many summers in Poynette fishing with is buddies. His children meant the world to him and he loved looking after his sister, Pat. John helped Pat and his mom at Granma’s Vegetable Stand for many summers. He always kept his sense of humor and was able to put a smile on anyone’s face. John enjoyed volunteering his time helping others.
Survived by his wife, Betty; sons, Dan (Jen) Palmer, David (Barb) Reynolds, Michael Reynolds and Gregory (Kathleen) Reynolds; daughters, Deborah Jolliffe, Diane (Don) Knight and Tammy Palmer; grandchildren, Joseph, Joshua, Sam, Brian, Megan, Lisa, Ashley, Michael, Charity, Jordan, Morgan, Nicole, Teresa Marie and Adam; great-grandchildren, Seth, Jayden, Michael and Katlyn; sisters, Pat Stroup and Clara (Cliff) McLain; many cousins and special fishing buddies. Predeceased by his grandson, Cody, brother, Arthur Reynolds and brother-in-law, Jim Stroup.
Funeral mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at St. Bridget Catholic Church with Monsignor Dzielak officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday at the church. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, assisted the family.
