John George Bouril, 86, of Rockford, passed away Friday, May 6, 2016, in his home. He was born December 14, 1929, in Manitowoc, WI, to George and Lynda Bouril. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Manitowoc and then attended Milwaukee School of Engineering where he graduated first in his class. He was in the Navy for six years and served in the Korean War. He married Josephine Bifano on June 8, 1957, in Johnstown, PA, and they settled in Rockford. She predeceased him in 1990. He then married Anita Nelson on November 18, 1995; she predeceased him in 2008. John worked as an engineer at Sundstrand for over 30 years. He was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Legion of Mary, Honor Guard for Pilgrim Virgin Statue, and Mary’s Rosary Makers.
Survivors include his children, Jacqueline (Jerry) Rudolph of Cherry Valley, Janine (Robert) Schneider of Rockford, Joseph Bouril of Rockford, and Jeffrey (Betsey) Bouril of Rockford; grandchildren, Molly (Sumo) Bhattacharya, Jerry III (Christina) Rudolph, Rebekah Rudolph, Angelica (Joseph) Goral; Katrissa (Marty) Howard, Joe (Mariah) Schneider, Jordan Schneider, Justin (Megan) Schneider, Marissa Schneider, Elissa Schneider; Tony Bouril, Anne Marie Bouril, Tim Bouril; Thomas Bouril, Matthew (Krissy) Bouril, and James Bouril; great-grandchildren, Carter, J.R., and David Rudolph; Joey Goral; Aidan, Liesl, Xavier, Ronan, Blaise, and Cecily Howard; Joseph Schneider, Jr.; sister, Mary Anne Frydach; brothers, Dick and Paul (Karen) Bouril; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Stasko, Jacqueline (Eric) Scholar, and Paulette (Tom) Berret and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, wives, infant daughter Theresa, sister-in-law Ramona Bouril, and brothers-in-law Bill Frydach and Bill Stasko.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2016, at St. Rita Catholic Church with Rev. John Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 1860 S. Mulford Road. Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. and led by Rev. Steven Lange. Visitation also from 9 - 9:45 a.m. on Thursday at the church.
