John F. Schlickman, 72



Rockford John F. Schlickman, 72 of Rockford, died after a short illness at 10:34 a.m. Sunday, October 25, 2009 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Born July 31, 1937 in Dubuque, IA to Leander amp; Helen (Juergens) Schlickman. Was a 1955 graduate of St. Thomas High School and attended Marquette University. Married Pamela Gee on April 12, 1958.Owned Tydee Dydee Diaper Service until it closed in 1997. Former President of National Association of Diaper Services and most recently worked for Lou Bachrodts. His strength and courage will forever be an inspiration to all who knew him. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Pamela; children, Mark (Tami) Schlickman of Wauwatosa, WI, Jerry (Camille) Schlickman of Rockford, Joe Schlickman of Rockford, Anne (Eric) Wagner of Prior Lake, MN, Jay (Annie Meyer) Schlickman of San Diego, CA., Amy (Brett) Davis of Land O Lakes, FL, and Alisa (Jake) Josias of Edwardsville; grandchildren, Michael, Lane, Grace, Lauren, Anna, Cole, Ella, Lilly, Will, Mya and Vivian; brother Eugene (Sherry) Schlickman; sisters, Mary Lou (Jim) Kampmeier and Pat (Bob) Webner, numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents.



Funeral Mass 10 a.m. Thursday, October 29, 2009 at Holy Family Catholic Church, with Father David M. Vogel officiating. Committal service will be private at a later date. Visitation Wednesday, October 28, 2009 from 5 to 7 p.m. with a wake service at 7p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory (Mulford Chapel) 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Visitation will continue from 9 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. Thursday morning at church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation.
