John F. Lonergan

John F. Lonergan, 86, Rockford, passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. He was born August 26, 1930, in Chicago, the son of Tom and Nellie (Naughton) Lonergan. He was an Army veteran. John started All Contractors Equipment Company in 1962, with his partner Robert Willey. He was a centenarian member of Mauh Nah Tee See Country Club for 53 years where he loved golfing and playing gin with his club buddies. John was an extraordinary man who lived life to its fullest and will be missed by so many.
John was the loving father of Keslie Crichton and her son John Peter Crichton; loving husband of Kathy Murawski Lonergan. Predeceased by his first wife Roz Sugar Lonergan.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, June 26, 2017, at St. Rita Catholic Church, 6254 Valley Knoll Dr. Rockford. Entombment at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until 10:15 A.M. on Monday at the church. Arrangements by Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel.
