John E. McCord, 78 of Rockford, died Thursday, May 6, 2010 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Born Dec. 5, 1931 in Clover Bend, Ark., son of Marvin and Etta (Evans)nbsp; McCord. Served in the United States Army and married his loving wife, the late, Carol Weyrauch. Worked for several years at Rockford Products and Camcar, from which he retired in 1993. John enjoyed bowling, country music and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. He has been a faithful member of Church of Christ East Side for the past 14 years. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff on the 2 nd floor CCU at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, Troy, Debra, Michelle and Megan. Survivors include his children, Caryln Sue (Tim) James, Patricia Whittaker, John McCord, Jr., Mary (Scott) Wilson and Trina (David) Krueger all of Rockford; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Carol in 1996, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.

Funeral service Monday, May 10, 2010 at Church of Christ East Side, 3529 20 th St. nbsp;at 2 p.m. with Pastor Neil Eness officiating. Visitation Monday in the church from 12:00 p.m. until time of service. Interment will be held on Wednesday, May 12 at 11:00 in Clover Bend Cemetery, Clover Bend, Ark.
