Joann Maren Toti

Joann Maren Toti, 82 of Rockford, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 13, 2024. Born to Joseph and Annabel (Smith) Adams on February 2, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois. Joann married the love of her life, Ronald Toti, on September 7, 1963, celebrating 61 years of marriage. They welcomed three children into the world, who meant everything to Joann. Joann was a eucharistic minister at St. James Catholic Church, where she was a devoted member for 60 years. She volunteered as a home visitor for St. Vincent de Paul Society to help those in need. She was instrumental in bringing the Marriage Encounter program to the Rockford area, helping couples strengthen their bond through Christ. She was an avid reader, and gifted artist. Above all else, Joann will be remembered for her heart, as she was always able to see the good in everyone. 

She is survived by her loving family, husband, Ronald Toti; daughters, Lisa (Jeff) Hedin, Michele (Alan) Toti Leach, Julie Toti; grandchildren, Joseph, Felicia, Andrew, Sarah, Noah, Dylan, Shane; brother, Joseph (Teresa) Adams; and numerous lifelong friends, as well as extended family. She is predeceased by her parents and in-laws, Evo and Pauline Toti.

A visitation for Joann will be held on Friday, July 19, 2024, at St. James Catholic Church, 428 N. 2nd Street, Rockford, IL, 61107, from 10:00 a.m. through 12:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will follow at 12:00 p.m. Luncheon to follow.
