Joan was born in Rockford, IL on September 5, 1943 to Dolores Vrazsity and Bernard Hatlestad and graduated from East High School in 1961. Her green thumb transformed her backyard into a vibrant oasis which she graciously opened to family and friends. Her warm hospitality created countless memories for those who had the privilege of knowing her. Above all, Joan cherished her role as grandmother to Hunter Hughes and Lauren (Jack) Conness. She poured her heart and soul into creating magical moments with her grandchildren, showering them with unconditional love.
