Joan E. Tanaglia passed away March 1, 2007 at 9:10 AM at St. Anne Center. Born December 14, 1928 in Rockford, IL the daughter of Frank and Helen (Callahan) Hering. She graduated from West High School in 1946. Joan married Joseph Tanaglia on May 6, 1950. Joan loved family gatherings and hosted weekly family dinners for over 25 years. Her excellent cooking made her home the favorite for all family birthdays and holidays. Joan was born with a green thumb, as evidenced by the many beautiful gardens she grew and tended over the years. An avid golfer, Joan was a member of the Ingersoll Womens Golf Association for over 45 years. Joan was also an accomplished bowler and participated in league play for over 4 decades. She will be dearly missed by her surviving family, husband, Joe; sons, David (Barbara) of Rockford, Mark (Sandra) of Cherry Valley, Kevin (Cindy) of Machesney Park; grandchildren, Stina, Anna, Sara (fianca(c)e Matthew Yates), Jordan, Janelle, Joey and Jessica; brother-in-law, Primo (Rose) Tanaglia of Rockford; nieces, Marcia (Roger) Williams, Louisa (Raymond) Hayenga and Debbie Hornbeck; nephews, Jim and Bill Hornbeck Jr..nbsp; Predeceased by her father, mother and sister, Barbara Hornbeck. nbsp; Visitation will be from 10:00 AM Monday March 5, 2007 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, Mulford Chapel, until time of service at 11:00 am with Rev. Michael Solberg officiating. In lieu of flowers the family wishes donations to be made in her name to Rockford Park Districts Celebrate Life Program, 401 S.
