Jessie A. Cicero, 85 of Rockford passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021. Jessie was born February 23, 1936 the daughter to Emanuel and Rosa (Colletti) Saladino. She married the love of her life, Alex Cicero on June 5, 1954. Jessie was employed at Warner Lambert for 25+ years as a machine operator. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Parish and the Sicilian Italian Women’s Club. In her younger years Jessie enjoyed bowling on several leagues and won numerous trophies. Jessie loved her slot machines and enjoyed going on bus trips to the casinos with her sisters and the Sicilian Italian Women’s Club. Most of all, Jessie loved spending time with her family.
Survived by her daughters, Diana (Nicholas) Sposato of Chicago and Rose (Douglas) Cwynar of Rockford; grandchildren, Nicole (Virginia) Sposato Liscano, Cristina Sposato, Michele (Joel) Stevens, Alexa (Matthew Hayes) Cwynar; great grandchildren, Jack Stevens, Thomas Stevens, Clara Stevens, Joseph Stevens; brother-in-law, Richard Van Horn and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Emanuel and Rosa Saladino; husband, Alex; sisters, Connie (Sam) Ricotta, Rosemarie Van Horn; brother, Sam (Lenora) Saladino. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff of St. Anne’s Center and Mercy Hospital for their loving and compassionate care and support.
Due to Covid 19 a private Mass at St. Bridget Catholic Church will be held. Burial at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a cause to be determined.
