Jerry Stigman

Jerry Stigman, 79, of Rockford IL., passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2021, at OSF Medical Center, in Rockford IL. Jerry was born December 23, 1941 to Lawrence and Phyllis (Johnson) Stigman. He graduated from East High School, class of 1960. He married Constance Carlson on May 23, 1964, in Rockford IL. Jerry was employed by Cotta Transmission for 52 years before retiring in 2012.
Since his teen age years Jerry’s passion has always been fast cars and drag racing, which he continued to enjoy until his passing.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 57 years, Connie Stigman; his daughters, Gina Stigman, and Amy (Sal) Tarara; grandchildren, Jacob Walt, Isabella (Ross) Hearne, Nick Tarara, and Ava Tarara; brothers, Jack (Kathy) Stigman, and Rande (Debbie Keene) Stigman; sister-in-law, Kay McEwing; a niece and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Phyllis Stigman, and brother-in-law, John McEwing. A celebration of life will be held at a later date for family and friends. Memorials may be gifted in Jerry’s name to the American Heart Association.
