Jerry L. Pobjecky

Jerry L. Pobjecky, 63, of Rockford, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at OSF St. Anthony surrounded by his family. He was born on February 8, 1953 in Rockford, the son of Louis and Maggie (Sagretta) Pobjecky. He graduated from East High School, Class of 1971. On April 5, 1975 he married the love of his life, Angela Halsted. Jerry retired from Elco Industries in 2008, and worked for the Winnebago County Highway Department until 2010. Jerry was devoted to his family, anything from family gatherings, attending grandchildren’s events, fishing with his sons, friends, and brothers. He was a loyal Cubs fan and finally got to see his Cubbies win the World Series (And what a night that was!). He coached for 15 years at Roy Gayle Baseball Complex along with his cousin, Dan, and fishing buddy, Mike. Jerry had an excellent sense of humor and a quick wit. Above all else, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother in-law, and father in-law.

My Love has left me too soon. Jerry was great man all the way around.

He is survived by his loving wife, Angie; his children, Tony (Carolyn) Pobjecky, Frank (Valerie) Pobjecky, and Nichole (Chris) Pobjecky; his grandchildren, Brayton, Trinidy, Jake, Ethan, Leslie, and Abraham; his brothers, Sam (Renee) Pobjecky and Scott (Jody) Pobjecky; Mother in-law, Ann Halsted; Brothers and sisters in-law; and many other wonderful family and friends. Predeceased by his parents, step-father, Bill Harris, and father in-law, Fred Halsted.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. and will continue on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Inurnment private.
