Jeremy Charles Schoonhoven, 32, of Rockford, IL, completed his round trip the morning of August 13, 2018.
Born in Rockford, IL on June 22, 1986 and passed through Rockford Memorial on his way back to heaven. Jeremy truly brought love and light into this world. In spite of the suffering he endured, he always managed to show his beautiful smile no matter what. Anyone who took the time to look into his eyes saw a spirit that reflected Jesus. Jeremy brought joy to so many people who tried to help him, not realizing that he was helping them. He was brave and courageous bearing much pain. We will always be grateful for all the doctors and nurses that tried to relieve his discomfort. By the world’s standards, there were many things he was unable to do, but by God’s standards, his purpose was to teach many the true values of life. Jeremy was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
In his short visit, he made his home with his mother, Sally; a dog named Shadow; sisters, Beth (Hassan) Haddad, Amy (Robert) Wallace; brothers, Matthew and Caleb Schoonhoven; nieces, Savannah, MaKenzie, Grace, Heba and Reem.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Riverside Assembly of God Church, 4242 W Riverside Blvd., Rockford, IL 61101, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ken Schmoyer officiating.
