BELOVED SON AND BROTHER, ADORING HUSBAND AND FATHER
Sergeant Jeremie James Kobler, 38, died Sept. 26, 2012. He was born Nov. 10, 1973, to David and Linda (Marquez) Kobler and baptized at the Oregon Methodist Church.
From a very early age, Jeremie felt called to serve Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, the United States Air Force, the Winnebago County Sheriff Dept. He graduated from Auburn High School in 1991 and attended Rock Valley College; he completed his education in the military. He served in the United States Air Force Security Police Forces active and reserve for 17 years, rising to the rank of technical sergeant stationed at Scott Air Force Base. He deployed to three activeduty rotations to the Middle East and one each in Turkey and Albania. Jeremie distinguished himself by his devotion to duty and was awarded six outstanding service in time of war medals, the meritorious service medal, a humanitarian commendation for nonlethal containment of the enemy in armed crisis, and commendations for 100 nonduty hours in protecting a military installation of 1,300 personnel. He was selfless and accepted deployments for others.
He joined the Sheriffs Dept. as a corrections officer in 1992, rising to the rank of staff sergeant.
Jeremie married Danielle Craddock on Oct. 23, 2010, and they celebrated the birth of twins Connor and Chloe about a year later. He loved playing with his children, which was reflected in another love photography. He delighted in taking and sharing hundreds of pictures of his family, children and dog, Bob his longtime playmate and fetch partner.
He was a member of Beth Eden Methodist Church and played rugby for the Rockford Ravens.
Jeremie is a hero to those he led, to his coworkers, his family, wife, children and friends. Endless in his love for life and country, Jeremie Kobler will remain beloved.
Survived by his wife Danielle and daughter Chloe and son Connor, all of Rockford; parents David and Linda Kobler of Rockford; brothers Matthew, of Long Beach CA, and Jason (Debbie), German Valley; nieces Madysen and Alice and nephews Johnny, Jakob and Joseph; paternal grandmother Katherine Bertling, Dixon; aunt Judy Tilton, Rockford; aunt and uncle Karen and Mike Joynt, Dixon. Predeceased by maternal grandparents Dorothy Sanner Marquez and Dagoberto V. Marquez and paternal grandfather George Kobler.
Funeral Service 2 p.m. Monday, October 1, 2012 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory (Mulford Chapel) 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, Illinois with Pastor Ross Miley officiating. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation from 10 a.m. to< 1:45 p.m. Monday at Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.
