Jennie C. Rotello

Jennie C. Rotello, 97, Rockford, passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2022. She was born July 13, 1925, in Rockford, the daughter of John and Frances (Collalti) Barbata. Jennie met Michael T. Rotello at the age of 17 and they were married 4 years later on October 16, 1946, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Michael passed away on January 17, 2020. Jennie was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and a past member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and St. Bernadette Catholic Church and had a deep devotion to St. Jude and the Blessed Mother. She was a loving mother and “nana” and enjoyed spending time with her family. Jennie had a collection of angels and of dolls that she enjoyed sharing with her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking, especially Italian food, listening to Dean Martin and Connie Frances and loved to dance. Everyone that met Jennie loved her, especially her beautiful smile. Special thanks to the staff at River Bluff Nursing Home for their loving care and compassion.
Survived by her loving son, Michael V. Rotello; her loving granddaughter, Bernadette A. Rotello; her many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband of 73 years, Michael; her parents; her siblings, Virginia Barbata, Mary Cuppini, Vito Barbata, Rose Guzzardo Curry, and Bessie Marsala.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4401 Highcrest Rd. Rockford, IL with Reverend David Beauvais officiating. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:30 P.M. until 5:30 P.M. on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. Rockford with the Rosary recited at 5:30 P.M. and the visitation will continue on Wednesday at the church from 10: 00 A.M. until the time of Mass.
