Jeffrey D. Gray

Jeffrey D. Gray, 41, unexpectedly and heartbreakingly passed away on September 1, 2022 at 1:57 a.m. Born in Rockford, Illinois son to Robert and Brenda (Walker) Gray. In 2017 he started his career with UPS where he was actively working. Before UPS, Jeff had the honor of being the primary caretaker for his father for numerous years. In his free time, he taught himself how to build and maintain computers, and even learned how to make a few videogames after taking a few college courses. Jeff enjoyed electronic media and more recently he found enjoyment in making his own YouTube videos. His children were the highlight of his life. In his spare time, he spent it with his children. Fond memories include learning how to drive with their dad, playing video games, going to the mall, or simply spending time getting food at the local food trucks or the city market.

He is survived by those who loved him most; his children Janessa and Blaine; his mother Brenda (Jeff) Bennett; siblings Christopher (Krystil) Gray, Corey (Michaela) Gray and Cara (Jakob) Kirchner; numerous aunt and uncles, several nieces, and nephews; special great Aunt Judy and Jeff’s best bud, Bear the cat. He is predeceased by his father, Robert, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

A visitation will take place on Thursday, September 8, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at 6:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, Illinois 61108. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to his mother Brenda to be established for his two children.
