Jeffrey A. Bennett

Jeffrey “Jeff” Alan Bennett, 68, of Rockford, passed away unexpectedly on October 26, 2024. He was born on November 11, 1955, in Rockford, the son of Rubert and Betty (Davis) Bennett. He married Brenda (Walker) Gray on May 12, 2001, in Rockford. He worked as an electrician for the IBEW 364 Union for 44 years. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing. He had a passion for working on cars, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles, and building anything and everything he could. Jeff had a love for musis, especially classic rock. He was a determined, helpful, and loving husband, dad, grandpa, brother, and friend.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda; children, Michael (Eric Switlik) Bennett and Chris Gray; grandchildren, Janessa Gray, Blaine Gray, and Ava Arguello; sister, Sue (Jeff) Peschang; sibling, Greg (Carol) Bennett; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is predeceased by his parents; son, Justin Bennett; daughter, Jessica Bennett; and stepson, Jeffrey Gray.

A Funeral Service will be on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road Rockford, IL 61108. A visitation will be prior to the service starting at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Family.
