Jeffrey A. Hurless

Jeffrey A. Hurless, 73, of Rockford, IL passed away Sunday, February 27, 2022. He was born February 4, 1949 in Freeport, IL the son of Norma (Andrews) and Bernard Hurless. Jeff attended Oregon high School, graduating in 1967 and went on to attend Rock Valley College. He married Maura Kreuz in Rockton, IL on April 30, 1972. Jeff retired from Sundstrand after 42 years of employment. Jeff was a care taker by nature and always there to lend a helping hand. Jeff enjoyed sports, playing basketball and softball. However, his true passion was golf. Jeff also enjoyed dining and a good meal with good company. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
Jeff is survived by his son Grant (Rana Alsiro) Hurless; siblings, Terry (Dixie) Hurless, Debbie (Al) Eppenbaugh, Craig (Rhonda) Hurless; sisters-in-law, Susan (Kevin) McCoid and Debbie (Werner) Seubert; numerous nieces and nephews; very special friend, Beth Eaton; uncle Gene and aunt Jo; special friend and care taker of Maura’s, “Sue” Lkhagvasursen Mijiddorj and daughter Catherine. Jeff is predeceased by his parents and wife, Maura.
Celebration of Life Luncheon will be held Monday, March 7, 2022 from 11:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Illinois Bank & Trust Pavilion, 1868 Reid Farm Road Rockford, IL. Cremation rites entrusted with Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Jeff’s name to OSF Hospice.
