Jeanne Ann Mcgowan

Jeanne Ann McGowan, 81, of Rockford, left us peacefully on Monday evening February 3, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Darlington, WI. on September 8, 1932, the daughter of Walter and Helene (Parkinson) Murray. She moved to Rockford with her family in 1941, then graduated from Rockford Public Schools. A chance meeting at a dance led her to meeting the love of her life, Francis "Bud" McGowan. They married on July 9, 1955. Jeanne Ann was a beautiful homemaker and an ever gracious hostess. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was always known for remembering family and friends through cards and phone calls.
She is survived by her children, Jayne (Tom) Nelson, Susan McGowan and Michelle (Steve) Kampwerth; her beloved grandchildren, Leif, Olivia and Avery. She will be dearly missed by a large loving family and many dear friends. Predeceased by her parents and husband, Bud McGowan.
Funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 7, 2014 in Darlington United Methodist Church, 539 Washington St. Darlington, WI. with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial in Holy Rosary Cemetery. Visitation on Thursday, February 6, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. in Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd, Rockford, IL.
