Jean L. Persinger

Jean Loretta Persinger, 92, of Rockford passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, April 16, 2017. She was born on January 24, 1925 in Marengo, IL, the daughter of James and Loretta (Deneen) Higgins. She met Charles J. Persinger, and the two married on August 7, 1948 in Marengo. She was a devoted member of Holy Family Catholic Church, where she attended mass daily. Above all, her family brought her the most joy. She was well known for her wonderful sense of humor and friendly demeanor. Jean will be greatly missed by all of those who knew her.

She is survived by her sons, Richard “Rick” (Mary) Persinger, and John “Jack” Persinger; her grandchildren, Sarah (Ryan) Forsell, and Matthew “Matt” Persinger; great grandchildren, Bennett and Mason; her brother, Robert “Bob” (JoAnn) Higgins; sister, Shirley Bockman; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She is predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Charles Persinger, her son, David “Dave” Persinger, and siblings, Lillian “Babe” Bright, Eileen Barnes, Helen Swanson, Gerald Higgins, and twin brother, Jim Higgins.

A funeral mass will be held on Monday, April 24, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church. A visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the Church until the time of service.
