Jean L. Homan

Jean L. (Hawes) Homan, 88, Rockford, passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2024. She was born on September 20, 1936, the daughter of Fred and Ruth M. (Stoltz) Hawes in Freeport, IL. Jean married Wayne K. Homan on January 26, 1957, in Orangeville. 

She worked at Dean Foods for 32 years as the secretary to the Vice President of Research and Development and to the Quality Assurance Department, retiring in 2002 after actively working for 32 years. She was a member of Professional Secretaries International and an assistant Cub Scout and Girl Scouts Leader. Jean loved to read and was known to always be there to take care of her grandchildren and never missed a birthday. 

Jean is survived by her children, Shawna Homan, Jeffrey Homan and Kelly Homan-Dukerschein; her grandchildren, Ethan Kenneth, Kathleen Jean Marie, and Lauren Lynn; her sister, Mary Pacek of Monroe WI; her sister-in-law, Darlene Larrow; and her cousin, Dorie. She is predeceased by her parents; her husband, Wayne; her sister, Winnifred Stewart; brother, Gary Larrow; son-in-law, Craig Dukerschein; and her grandson, Dillon Troy Homan. 

A visitation for Jean will take place on Saturday, December 28, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N Rockton Ave, Rockford, IL 61103.
