Jean Fairchild

BELVIDERE - Jeanette "Jean" M. Fairchild, 89, of Rockford died Wednesday, July 2, 2014. Born March 7, 1925; the daughter of Frank and Pearl (Weeks) Newkirk. Married Robert Stanton, then Thomas Nicholson in July 1945. He predeceased her in 1980. Jean then married James Fairchild in 1988. He predeceased her in 1997. Jean was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Rockford. She was a Stevens Minister, sang in Chancel Choir. Belonged to Kumamoto Circle. Jean loved God, enjoyed family and friends, and her animals. She was an avid reader. Survivors include sons, Robert (Sharon) Stanton, Steve Nicholson, and Rick (Linda) Nicholson; special niece and nephew, Marge and Gary Gyllenswan; grandchildren Vanessa (Brad) Stanton, Heather (Pat) McDonald, T.J. Nicholson, Scott Nicholson, and Traci Nicholson; great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephew, and cousins. Many Nicholson relatives and friends. Predeceased by parents, brothers, Francis, William, and Russell; special niece, Judy Gulbrantson.
