Jean C. Braun, 88 Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Sister Jean C. Braun, 88, Rockford, died at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, June 10, 2013 in Presence St. Anne Center. Born August 12, 1924 in Lidgerwood, ND, daughter of Adolph and Helen (Gulley) Healy. Attended grade school and graduated from St. Francis Academy in Hankinson, ND. Received her nurses registration degree from St. Francis Hospital, Breckenridge, MN. She was also a certified rehabilitation nurse. Employed at St. Barnabas Hospital in Minneapolis and retired as the assistant director of nurses at Americana Health Care Center in Rockford. She later worked at Rockford Memorial Hospital in Utilization Review until she took a second retirement. She was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church and the Ladies of St. Bernadette Group. Jean loved flowers and reading. Her special times were spent with her family, grandchildren and friends. Survivors include her sister-in-law, Bernice (Art) Krump; daughters, Judy (Mark) Beyer, Rockford, Christie (Buddy) Truman, Beloit, WI; sons, Richard (Burma Mathews) Braun, Kankakee, Michael (Mary) Braun, Darien, Patrick (Anita) Braun, Rockford, Brad (Lois) Braun, Rockford, Mark Braun, Rockford; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; her special friends, Dotty Westcott and Kris Lambrecht. Predeceased by her husband Darrel, her daughter, Mary, parents and her sister, Jacqueline Johnson. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 13, 2013 in St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation from 9-10 a.m. Thursday in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
