Rockford- J.C. Orr died 12:45 a.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2009. Born June 5, 1948 in Double Springs, AL., the son of Curtis amp; Pauline (Ergle) Orr. Lived many years in Rockford coming here from Missouri. Married Laura E. Wilson in Rockford on August 3, 1968. Served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam War. J.C. worked in construction for Paul Larson Concrete for 17 years. He enjoyed fishing, spending with his pets, and being outside at his ponds and gazebo. Survivors include loving wife, Laura, Children Candy (Paul) Larson of Winnebago, Penny (Steve) Helser, Ricky Orr, Melinda (Jeremy) Hillary, and Melissa Martin all of Rockford; 14 grandchildren; sister Paulette Cobb of Bernie, Mo; brother Curtis (Mary) Orr of Sikeston, Mo. Predeceased by parents and brother Johnny Orr. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at Forest City Baptist Church. 4241 Pepper Drive, Rockford, with Pastor Chuck Reagan officiating. There will be a time of gathering with his family from 10 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.
