JASON LEE PHILLIPS, 29 LOVING HUSBAND, FATHER, SON AND BROTHER JASON LEE PHILLIPS, 29, Rockford, died at 11:50a.m., Sunday, April 29, 2007 in his home following a sudden illness. Born July 23, 1977 in Rockford, son of Frank Lee and DeAnn Diehl Phillips. Graduated in the top 25 of his class from Auburn High School in 1995 and received a degree in finance and marketing from ISU in 2000 where he was a member of the Drum Line. Married Amanda J. Alsup in Rockford on November 8, 2003. Member of Beverly Park General Baptist Church. Employed as the Business Manager at Anderson Toyota Lexus. He received his first drum set at 3 years old and played the drums with all of his heart and soul. He was a professional drummer for numerous bands, including "Slick Nickel" "Seed" and "Blue Moon" . He marched with the drum line with The Phantom Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps, starting at the age of 8 years old as a Pre-Cadet. He taught drum lessons to up- and- coming drummers and was a former member of the Rockford Pipe Band. He was also an avid Chicago Bears and Cub fan. Jason was a loyal, non-judgemental friend with a tender and gentle heart. He was a religious man and a fantastic provider for his family. His daughter was the light of his life and he was hers. Survivors include his wife, Amanda; daughter, Anna; parents, Frank L. and DeAnn Phillips; sister, Ashley Phillips; maternal grandparents, Gerald and Patricia Diehl; paternal grandmother, Hazel Ruth Storey; mother and father-in-law, Allen and Pamela Alsup and their family who all loved him very much; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends too many to mention. Predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Mel Storey, an uncle and a cousin. A funeral service will be held at 11a.m., Thursday, May 3, 2007 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with Pastor David Stevens, Beverly Park General Baptist Church, officiating. Visitation from 5-8p.m., Wednesday and from 10a.m. until time of the service on Thursday.
