Janice Kay Swanson

Janice Kay Swanson, 78, of Rockford, passed away on February 7, 2024, at home. She was born on September 28, 1945, in Rockford, the daughter of Lloyd and Florence (Troy) Pearson. She attended St. Edwards for grade school, and graduated from East High School, class of 1963. Janice met Jon Swanson Sr. and together they eloped on December 5, 1963. She was an active member at St. Edward Catholic Church.

She is survived by her sons, Jon Swanson Jr. and Jim Swanson. She was predeceased by her parents and husband, Jon. 

A visitation will be on Friday, February 16, 2024, from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, IL 61108. A graveside service will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Please share memories and condolences online www.fitzgeraldfh.com.
