Janice A. Nesbit

Janice A. Nesbit, 86, of Rockford, died at 7:15 a.m. Sunday, August 24, 2008 in her home.  Born October 30, 1921 in London Mills, daughter of Richard and Lena (Philippi) Sampson.  Married Arthur H. Nesbit in London Mills on February 6, 1946.  Resident of Rockford for the past 2 years having previously lived in Quincy for 56 years.  She had been a very active member of the Quincy First Presbyterian Church for over 50 years.  Janice will always be remembered for the time she spent taking care of and finding homes for the 250 doves born over a period of time in her own kitchen.  Family was most important to Janice; she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.   Survivors include her husband, Arthur; children, John A. Nesbit, Phoenix, AZ., Roger W. (Lynne) Nesbit, Portland, OR. and Sharon L. (George) Nesbit-Davis, Rockford; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and brother, Dharld Sampson, London Mills.  Predeceased by her parents and grandson, Bryn Nesbit.   A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave.  Burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation from 12 p.m. until time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. To
