hspace=10JANET M. BERG, 84 ROCKFORD - Janet M. Berg, 84, of Rockford died at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008, in OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center. Born Oct. 2, 1924, in Rockford, the daughter of Joe and Mary Brudnowski. She attended Central High where she was an honor student. She then attended Rockford Beauty School and received her beauticians license. Married to Howard V. Berg on May 18, 1957, in Belvidere; he died in 2007. She owned Jans Beauty Salon, located in the Rockford Trust Building, for 45 years. She enjoyed her travels to Florida for winter and up north to see the fall colors every fall. She loved her two dogs, Charlie and Barney. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her special handicapped sister, MaryAnn, whom she thought the world of. Janet was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church. Survived by brothers, Tony Brodeski and Edward (Virginia) Brudnowski; sisters, Stella Hawkinson, Edna (Carl) Gustafson and MaryAnn Brudnowski; and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents; husband, Howard; brother, Walter Brodeski; and sisters, Agnes Ripley, Helen Smagowicz and Celia Krowczyk. Special thanks to OSF Saint Anthony doctors and nurses Tara, Melissa and Chelsea for their excellent care of Janet. Mass at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 201 Buckbee St., with Monsignor Aaron Brodeski and Father Piotr Sarnicki officiating. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Stanislaus Church. Online condolences may be sent at www.fitzgeraldfh.com.
