Janet L. Flemming

Janet L. Flemming 96 of Rockford passed away Thursday December 5, 2013 in Wesley Willows. She was born January 30, 1917 in Rockford, the daughter of Frank and Frances Valentine. She graduated from Rockford High School, class of 1935. She married William Flemming on October 29, 1938 in Rockford. He predeceased her in 1984. Janet worked at The Rockford Newspaper for 34 years. Member of Grace United Methodist Church. Janet was also a Charter member of West Suburban Fire Auxiliary and a volunteer for River Bluff Nursing Home Auxiliary.
Survivors include her Children; William Flemming of Beaver Dam, WI and Connie Flemming of Rockford. Twin sister; Jean Sherman of Pecatonica. Grandchildren; Cinnamon (Robert) Mayoh of Beaver Dam, WI and Penny (Aaron) Nichols of Shelburne, VT. Great grandchildren; Kaileen, Ryan, Lillian and Wade. Predeceased by her parents, husband William, Brother Herbert Valentine and sister Marian Miller.
Funeral Services at 11am Tuesday December 10, 2013 in Grace United Methodist Church 3555 McFarland Rd, Rockford, IL 61114 with Pastor Pam Rossmiller officiating. Burial in Willwood Burial Park. Visitation from 10am until service time, Tuesday in the church. Arrangements completed by Fitzgerald Funeral Home Riverside Chapel.
