Janet loved going out to dinner and spent many evenings with her special friends, Leroy and Donna Mincemoyer, Herman and DoraDean Danekas and Janet Atchison. Their friendship meant so much to her, as did her close friendship with Rebecca and Dorothy Donovan. Bettie Everson's many visits to Morning Star continued to be a highlight for Janet.
Traveling was one of Janet's favorite things to do and she went on several trips to Canada, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, and Maine. She enjoyed traveling to many states and visiting her grandkids in Kansas City and Colorado. Canada was a favorite place to visit with her daughter and son-in-law as she spent many fishing vacations there over the years. She especially enjoyed an 80th birthday cruise with her son and daughter-in-law where she was surprised in Grand Cayman when she was met by her daughter and son-in-law and her grandson, his wife and her granddaughter. It was a birthday party befitting the wonderful woman she was.
At Janet's request, there will be no visitation and a private family memorial service will be held at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, South Mulford, Rockford, IL, followed by burial in Flora Cemetery, Irene, IL. In lieu of flowers and in consideration of Janet's many years of service to the community, memorial donations may be sent to the Monroe Township Fire Protection District.

The world's a better place because of Mom. She was the heart and soul of our family and each and every one of us will feel her loss dearly.
