Jane Q. Ramsey, 93, of Winnebago, passed away on July 18, 2021. She was born on April 1, 1928, on the family farm in Winnebago, IL to Horace and Maude (Kissack) Brown. She and her family were members of the Burritt Community Church. Jane graduated from Winnebago High School and went on to get her Bachelor Degree at Dubuque University. She married Warren Ramsey on January 3, 1953 and together they raised three wonderful girls while travelling the world during Warren’s service in the US Air Force. Jane had a passion for learning when she was just a young girl. At the age of four she was allowed to start school after repeatedly following her siblings to the one-room schoolhouse nearby. She took her passion and went on to become a teacher herself and taught grade school for over 30 years. Jane had a love for music; and loved playing the piano for her children as they were growing up. She was an avid reader and a life-long learner, enjoying good food, traveling with her husband, gardening, and spending time at Klehm Arboretum. Jane was very passionate about nature. She had a special love for Cardinals, Chickadees, Robins, and the song of the Meadowlark. In 1971, she started her own business, sharing and selling Shaklee products for over 50 years. She lived her life to the fullest and was looking forward to being reunited with her husband again. Jane will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
Jane is survived by her daughters; Nancy Kusnir, Melissa (Karl) Kroening, and Peggy (Richard Abate) Ramsey; her grandchildren, Jarrod (Amanda) Dunnavan, Megan (Brad) Dierks, Brittney (Bryan) Lykkebak, and Alec Ramsey; her great grandchildren, Hayden and Jackson Dunnavan, and Callie and Violet Dierks. She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Warren Ramsey; her parents, Horace and Maude Brown; and her siblings, William (Barbara) Brown, Thomas (Fran) Brown, Marjorie (Dan) McKirgan, and Horace “Buddy” (Carol) Brown Jr., as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
