Jan Stanislau Gawronski, 65, of Rockford, passed away Friday, January 18, 2013, in his home. Jan was born in Poland on July 11, 1947, the son of Stanislau and Maria Gawronski. He served in the Polish Army. Jan came to the United States from Poland in 1980. He married Janina Banasiewicz. She passed away on March 12, 2008. He was a maintenance engineer at Valspar for 28 years. Jan was a member of Saint Stanislaus Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing soccer as well as fishing and hunting. Jan was very active at church, especially helping at Polish Fest. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan and enjoyed working on cars. Jan traveled to many places including Europe and all over the United States. Jan is survived by his sons, Remigiusz (Remi) and Darek (Jenna) Gawronski, both of Rockford; granddaughter, Mikali Gawronski and 2 sisters in Poland. Predeceased by his wife, Janina. Funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at Saint Stanislaus Catholic Church, 201 Buckbee St. with Father Darek Barna officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with Rosary recited at 7:30pm and will continue at church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. To
