James W. Gent

James W. Gent, 85 of Rockford passed away October 29, 2007 at St. Anne Center. Born December 23, 1921 in DeKalb, IL son of Blanchie Crawford and James Gent. Jim worked as a Postal Carrier in Rockford for many years before he retired. He also served in the United States Army during WWII. Jim was also a member of the Rockford Rifle Association. Survivors include his children James W. Gent, Jr., Carolyn Gent, Tom (Kathy) Gent, Jim Gent and Robert Gent. Seven grandchildren, one sister Mary Jones and numerous loving family members. He is predeceased by his parents. Funeral Service will be Saturday, November 3, 2007 at 1:00 pm in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. Visitation will be from 12:00 until time of the Service. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the Provena- St. Anne Center, 4405 Highcrest Road, Rockford, IL.
