James T. Condon

James “Jim” Thomas, Condon, 67, passed at his family home June 8, 2022 in Rockford, IL surrounded by his sisters. He was born July 27, 1954 and graduated from Jefferson High School, Rockford, IL. Jim liked working with his hands and being outdoors. As a youngster, he spent hours assembling model sports cars and helping on the family farm. He was a member of the Kishwaukee Presbyterian Church. He eventually became a proud owner of a yellow Chevelle. He loved old muscle cars. Along with helping on the family farm, he had several other jobs. He began working in carpentry, with both Spain and Spears Construction, and also spent many years working at Hines Farms. Some of Jim’s favorite pass times included; trap shooting, racing go-carts in Broadhead, WI, fishing with his nephews in Door County, WI, Morel mushroom hunting, flea markets, a good fireworks show and of course, playing ball with his dog Duke. Jim had several special friends that kept in touch with him often and he greatly appreciated those calls and visits. Jim will be remembered for his kind and generous nature and always willing to help his family and friends. Family was important to Jim. His presence will be greatly missed and his memory will be treasured.

Survivors include his sisters Nancy (Condon) Applegate, Carol (Condon) Maples, and Laura (Condon), along with several nephews, a niece, great nephews and great nieces. He is pre-deceased by his parents Thomas and Bettie (Herndon) Condon.

The celebration of his life will be held Friday, June 17, 2022 from 10:00 am -12:00 noon, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 1860 South Mulford Rd, Rockford, IL, followed by his burial at Kishwaukee Cemetery, Stillman Valley, IL.
