James R. Estes

James R.Jim Estes, 82 a life long resident of Rockford, died Monday, April 21, 2008 at Swedish American Hospital. Born July 21, 1925, son of Amos and Anne (Mulchaey) Estes. Graduate of St. Thomas Moore Catholic High School and served in the United States Army during WWII. Married to his loving wife Rosemary Christian. Worked for several years as a machinist for Eclipse, Inc. retiring in 1987. He enjoyed playing cards with his family and woodworking. Survivors include his wife, Rosemary; sons, Terry Estes, Stan Lee and Tim Estes; daughters, Christine Estes, Cathy Estes and Patty (Wayne) Givens all of Rockford; grandchildren, Mary Ann, Rick, Corey (Chrystal), Brian, Tyler, Kyle, Ariel, Garrett, Madison, Michael and Dennis; great grandchildren, Ashley, Austin, Riley, Logan, Andrew and Noah; sister, Phyllis Houston of Rockford and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, sons, Rick and Larry, infant daughter, Deb and brothers, John and Bill. Funeral Service Friday, April 25, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Riverside chapel 3910 N. Rockton Ave. Visitation from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 24, continuing on Friday from 10- 10:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers please make memorials to the family for a fund to be established at a later date.
