James W. Lichtfuss

James W. Lichtfuss, 75, passed away on April 21, 2024, in Winnebago Illinois. Born on October 16, 1948, son to Walter and Esther (Radloff) in Rockford, Illinois. While at West High School he met who would become the love of his life, Judy Musselman, and they wed on June 24, 1967. He then went on to work for Woodward Governor for 37 years. Jim spent most of his retirement enjoying the golf courses and weather in Florida before only recently moving back to Illinois to be with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. 

Jim will be missed by his beloved wife of 56 years, Judy; their sons Jeremy (Mong) and Jeffery (Stephanie) Lichtfuss; his grandchildren Savanah, Ellie, Marlowe, Nathanial, and Elijah; great grandchild Emmery; his sister Lorraine (Bill) Sythes and several nieces and nephews; dear friends, Joe and Trish Stevens, and Bob and Julie Haskins. He is predeceased by his parents, and his siblings Judy Adolphson and Walter (Robbie) Lichtfuss. 

A memorial service will take place on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 3910 N. Rockton Avenue, Rockford, Illinois, 61103. A fellowship will take place to follow at John’s Restaurant & Pizzeria, 2914 11th Street, Rockford, Illinois 61109. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mercy Hospice or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
