James J. Jim Becker

nbsp;James J. Jim Becker, 85, of Cherry Valley, IL, formerly of Hanover Park, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 24, 2009 in his home surrounded by his family. Jim was born July 24, 1923 in Chicago, IL, the son of Charles and Mary (nee Klecan) Becker. Jim married Theresa Mormino in Chicago on December 28, 1947. Jim was a US Army Veteran of WW II and worked as a truck driver for P.I.E. until retiring in 1984. He was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church in Rockford and was a volunteer for Sunday Morning Hospitality. Jim was a member of Teamsters Local 705, the Golden Circle Bowling Team in Hoffman Estates and a former member of Moose Lodge 404 in Aurora. He enjoyed fishing, reading, gardening, and had a great sense of humor Jim is survived by his wife, Theresa; three daughters, Jamie James, Shirley (Alan) Russell and AmyJoy Gurin; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; his brother, George (Eleanor) Becker and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 28 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, IL 61108 from 5 P.M. - 8 P.M. with a wake service at 6:30 P.M. and a Time of Reflection at 8 P.M. Burial will be private.
