In humble reverence, we gather to honor the life and legacy of James Ernest Hendrickson, a faithful servant of the Lord, who peacefully transitioned into eternal rest on November 27, 2023. Born on September 27, 1945, in the serene town of Shullsburg, WI, James embodied a spirit of profound humility, gratitude, and deep respect for all of creation. His journey on this earthly plane was one marked by devotion to his faith and unwavering love for his family.
His love for his family knew no bounds, as he treasured the sacred bonds they shared. James held his friends in the highest regard, cherishing the gift of their presence in his life.
In addition to his devout spirituality, James found joy and camaraderie in the realm of sports, with a special affinity for the Wisconsin Badgers.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Linda Hendrickson, who shared in his spiritual journey and unwavering love. James' profound impact extends to his children: David Hendrickson (Danielle), Angela Abbott, Amy Prater (Doug), and Melissa Roberts (Rodney). He leaves a lasting legacy in the hearts of his cherished grandchildren: Austin McDaniel, Grace Abbott, Brinley Prater, Tyler Nunez, Noah Prater, Lauren Abbott, Tanner Nunez, Drew Hendrickson, Riley Roberts, Regan Roberts, Reese Roberts, and Maverick Prater. James' siblings, Anne Brown (Bill), Bob Hendrickson (Becky), Dean Hendrickson (Beth), Dick Hendrickson (Jan), and Susan Magyar (John), hold him dear in their memories. He joins his parents, Ernest and Alice Hendrickson, and his parents-in-law, Frank and Bessie Farel.
Visitation will be November 30th from 2:00-4:00 pm. A sacred and solemn Celebration of Life service will be held immediately after at 4:00 pm Both will be at City First Church, located in the Chapel, 5950 Spring Creek Road, Rockford, IL. This gathering will serve as a testament to James' unwavering faith and the lasting impact he made on all who were blessed to know him.
In honor of James' valiant battle against pancreatic cancer, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network at www.pancan.org. By supporting this noble cause, we can unite in the fight against this devastating disease and bring hope to those affected.
