James A. Precourt

James A. Precourt, 87, of Rockford passed away Sunday, January 18, 2015 at The Villa at PA Peterson. Born July 7, 1927, in Chicago, the son of Joseph and Louise (Michalak) Precourt. Proudly served in the Navy during World War II. Married the former Joan Danaher on July 23, 1973. Employed at the Illinois Bell Telephone Company until his retirement in 1982. Member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
Jim is survived by his children, Joseph (Corinne) Precourt, Mary Nolan, Thad (Sherry) Precourt, James (Catherine) Precourt, Thomas (Stephany) Precourt and step daughter, Kimberly (Donald) Vayr; 17 grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents, wife, Joan, sisters, Silvia Cotter and Henrietta Shisler and son, Christopher Precourt.
Memorial Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the church on Saturday. Interment in Calvary Catholic Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kids Alive International, www.kidsalive.org.
