Jacqueline "Jackie" K. Mccaffrey

Jacqueline Kay Harris-McCaffrey of Sun City Center, Florida, formerly of Rockford, Illinois, went to be with the Lord peacefully Friday, August 14, 2020 hand-in-hand with her daughters and family by her side. Jackie was born on April 18, 1937 in Rockford, Illinois to Harry and Helen Harris. Jackie graduated from West High School in 1956. She worked at Catherine’s, a women’s boutique in Rockford, Il, as the main buyer for designer clothing and ran the bridal department until she retired to be a grandmother. Jackie was a faithful member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Ruskin, Florida. She enjoyed reading, time at the pool with her close friends, interior decorating, cooking, spending time with her family and grandchildren, and attending mass each week with her husband, Mac. Jackie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend.

She will be dearly missed by her loving husband of 42 years, Richard (Mac) McCaffrey; her children Cindy (Dan) Fischer, Jennifer (Pete) Ferri-Ferguson, Terry (Wendy) McCaffrey, Cathy (Doug) Hoffman, and Greg (Julie) McCaffrey; her grandchildren Danielle and Kendall Ferguson, Christina Fischer, Ryan Hoffman, Christopher, Colin, Sean, Brian, Anna, Kelly, and Patrick McCaffrey; her siblings Robert Harris and Joann Ahmer; her sister-in laws Judy (Jim) Lindstedt and Theresa (John) Maltbey, her brother-in-laws Tim and Mike McCaffrey; her nieces and nephews; and her dear friends she met daily at the Nantucket pool. Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Harry, and Pat McCaffrey.

A walk-through visitation will be held Thursday August 20, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home - Rockton Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 7:45 p.m. Please wear a mask and practice social distancing. Private Funeral Mass at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, and a private burial at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society.
