Jacqueline "Jackie" I. Roy

Jacqueline “Jackie” I. Roy, 82, Rockford, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who always gave from her heart, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at Alpine Fireside Health Center. She was born January 10, 1935, in Lewiston, Maine, the daughter of Ovide and Corona Blais. She married Franklin T. Roy in Lewiston on January 10, 1953. He passed away in Rockford on September 27, 2005. She was a long time member of St. James Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic minister with her husband.
Survived by her daughters, Jo Ann (Stephen) Stormer of Lodi, WI and Jackie E. (John) Doyle of Rockford; her sons, William T. (Tina) Roy and Franklin T. (Maria) Roy Jr., both of Rockford; her grandchildren, Kara A. (Dustin McIlvain) Stormer, Justina M. and fiancé (Juan Vazquez), Jared M. (Carlos )Torres-Doyle, Corina M., Wil T., Westin T., Celina M., and Katrina E. Roy; many nieces and nephews including her niece, Brenda Snyder who provided special care for her. Predeceased by her brother, Norman Blais.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 A.M. Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at St. James Catholic Church, 428 N. 2nd St. Rockford with Reverend Leonard Jacobs officiating and Reverend David Beauvais concelebrating. Entombment at Calvary Catholic Cemetery mausoleum. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Monday, November 20, 2017, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Av. with the Rosary recited at 6:45 P.M. Visitation will resume again from 11:00 A.M. until time of Mass on Tuesday at the church.
