Jack P. DeCamp, 82, of Rockford passed away Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Swedish American Hospital. Born February 22, 1935, in Rockford, the son of Richard and Ruth (Lundberg) DeCamp. He was a graduate of East High School in 1953 and was then drafted into the Army. Jack married Karel Johnson on September 16, 1967. He was co-owner of Nelson DeCamp Corporation for many years and in retirement, worked as a real estate agent for Dickerson Nieman. Karel and Jack were members of Forest Hills Country Club for many years. Jack enjoyed golfing, fishing and fishing trips up north. He was a Chicago Bears and Cubs fan. Jack was a great husband, father, grandfather, favorite brother and friend to many.
Survived by his wife of 50 years, Karel; daughters, Tammy (Steven) Kasmar and Tracy DeCamp; granddaughters, Whitney, Katie, Christina and Cassi; sisters, Dee Wagner, Joyce (Richard) Veit and Joan Greeny and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his son, Robert DeCamp, parents, brother, Ronald DeCamp and nephews, Johnny and Shawn.
Memorial visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road. At Jack’s request, cremation rites have been accorded. To express online condolences, please visit: www.fitzgeraldfh.com.
