Jack Edward Peterson

Jack Edward Peterson, 67, of Rockford, passed away Tuesday, December 12th, 2017 in New York City. Born July 24, 1950 in Rockford, IL, son of Ann and Kenneth Peterson. Graduate of Lanphier High School in Springfield and also Knox College in Galesburg. Later he attended Northern Illinois University where he completed his degree in accountancy and was a Certified Public Accountant. Jack served in the army for two years where his final military rank was Captain. He was married to Laura Schroeder on November 29, 1974, and they were happily married for 43 years. Jack found great joy in spending time with his children and grandchildren. He also greatly enjoyed the time he spent working for Vericlaim/Sedgwick where he proudly held the position of Senior Executive General Adjuster for over 20 years. Jack was preceded in death by his parents Ann and Kenneth Peterson.

Survivors include wife Laura; sons Michael (Brooke) Peterson, Matthew (Shannon) Peterson; grandchildren Sophie and Jackson Peterson; stepmother, Gloria Peterson and mother-in-law, Joanne Nelson; sisters, Kathy (Wayne) Erdman, Vicki (John) Wilson; brother Michael (Tina) Peterson. Jack was also survived by several brother and sister-in-laws, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Saturday, December 16 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory at 1860 S. Mulford, Rockford, IL 61108. Private family service to be held at a later date.
