Ivan R. Torres-Espinoza

Ivan R. Torres-Espinoza, 24, of Rockford died Saturday, April 18, 2015. He was born November 30, 1990 in Mexico the son of Jose R. Torres and Monica Espinoza. A 2007 graduate of Guilford High School and attended Rock Valley College. He was currently working with his father at Woodward, Inc. but took time to enjoy drawing, traveling, listening to music, hanging out with his friends and most of all playing video games. Ivan was also able to take a moment and relax and enjoyed looking at the night sky and the vibrant stars above and would always say, at the end of fear…. oblivion. He was a loving son, brother, grandson and nephew and he will be missed dearly.
Survivors include his parents, Jose Torres and Monica Espinoza; sister, Mitzi D. Torres; grandmother, Teresa Espinoza; grandfather, Jesus Torres; uncles, Carlos Espinoza and Arturo Benavides; aunts, Rocio Villa and Adelina Benavides and many close friends, co-workers and special family in Mexico that loved him so much. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Rogelia; great grandmother, Maria; grandfather, Carlos and great grandfather, Angel.
Funeral Mass Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 11 a.m. at St. Edward Catholic Church, 3004 11th St. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 22 from 4-8 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with a Rosary Service to be recited at 8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday at church in the Parish Hall from 10 a.m. until time of prayer of 10:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorials to his family for a fund to be established at a later date.
