Isabel B. Myers Isabel B. Myers, 95, of Cherry Valley, went to be with the Lord on October 4, 2009 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Isabel was born August 30, 1914 in Janesville, WI, the daughter of Andrew and Anna Duoss. Isabel married Edward H. Myers in Argyle, IL on August 19, 1932. Isabel began her teaching career in 1934 in a one room school house in Rock County, WI. In 1954 she started teaching in Cherry Valley. Isabel was well known and loved by her students during her 19 year career. She was also instrumental in establishing Cherry Valleys first library. Isabel was a longtime member of Cherry Valley United Methodist Church and the Busy Bee Circle, and enjoyed gardening, cooking, and crafts. Isabel is survived by her children, Patricia (Frank) Lang, of Davenport, IA, Edward"Tony" Myers (Christine Barrick), of Rockford, and Linda Sherwood (Steve Horrocks), of Rockford; grandchildren, Rick, Robin, and Ron Lang, Michele (Mark) Loerke, Christina Myers and their mother, Joan Gitchel, and Patrick (Connie) Sherwood; five great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and her brother, Donald Douss of Janesville, WI. Isabel was predeceased by her parents; husband, Edward (Jan. 24, 1993 grandson, Daniel Myers, one brother, and two sisters. Isabels family would like to thank the staff at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center and PA Peterson. A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Ed and Josie, in her last years you especially made Isabel feel alive, useful, and loved. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 9, 2009 at 10 A.M. at Cherry Valley United Methodist, with Rev. Dick Wang officiating. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cherry Valley United Methodist Church, 112 S. Cherry St., Cherry Valley, IL 61016. Family and friends may
