Irene Moon

Irene Moon, 83, of Rockford died Saturday, May 13, 2017 at River Bluff Nursing Home. Born December 21, 1933 the daughter of Guermo and Generosa Rodriquez. Married Ygnacio Nick Luna Moon in Paducah, TX in 1950. Irene was a hard worker and enjoyed her family very much. She was a devout and faithful member of St. Patrick Catholic Church for many years. She is survived by her children, Esperanza (Roberto) Dangel of Rockford, Ygnacio (Lisa)Luna Jr. of Pecatonica, Rojelio (Kim)Luna of German Valley, Virginia (Rick )Keinz of Rockford, Esther Velarde of Rockford, Michael (David) Moon of Rockford; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 2007, her daughter, Generosa Jimenez and sons-in-law, Paul Jimenez and Carlos Velarde.
Funeral Mass Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 2505 School St, Rockford, with visitation from 10 a.m. until time of prayer at 10:45 a.m. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
