Irene E. Bartell, 86, of Machesney Park, died at 9:10 pm, Tuesday, April 10, 2007, in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center.nbsp; Born April 2, 1921 in Rockford, the daughter of William L. and Katherine (Foley) Murphy.nbsp; She married Robert J. Bartell in Rockford in 1942. He predeceased her on July 18, 1991.nbsp; Member of St. Bridget Catholic Church. Irene is survived by 3 sons, Gary R. (Sharon) Bartell of Apple Canyon Lake, IL, Curt (Fran) Bartell of Rockford and Chucknbsp; Bartell of Machesney Park , IL;nbsp; grandchildren, Kristine (Bruce) Meekhof, Lisa (Kevin) Williams, Jodi (Jeff) Zeal, Mark (Teri) Miles, Shannon (Eric) Zichterman, Amy (Jamie) Bowman, Kim (Ron) Perrine, and Kathy and Matt Bartell;nbsp; great-grandchildren, Spencer and Nathan Meekhof, Eric and Lauren Williams, Jenna and Jacob Zeal, Shane and Derek Miles, and Collin and Emma Bowman. Predeceased by brother, William J. Murphy. A special thanks to Dr. Michael Maloney and staff and OSF St. Anthony Visiting Nurses for the care and compassion given to Irene. Funeral Mass at 1:00 pm, Friday, April 13, 2007, in St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Ave., with Father Brian Olsen officiating.nbsp; Visitation on Thursday evening, April 12, 2007, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, in Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., with rosary recited at 7:45 pm, and from 12:30 till time of service in the church. Interment in Calvary Catholic Cemetery.nbsp; Memorials may be made to the family.
