Ida S. Kaszczuk

Ida S. Kaszczuk, 88 of Rockford passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2009 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Born February 4, 1921 in Berlin, Connecticut, the daughter of Frank and Rose (Gasperini) Santamaria. Ida married Joseph Kaszczuk on August 2, 1945 in New Britian, Connecticut. She was a member of the Cathedral of St. Peter, Ladies of Columbus Auxiliary and a volunteer for many organizations, including Rock River Valley Pantry, R.S.V.P. and Meals on Wheels. She also cooked for the Sisters at St. Peter and worked as an election judge.



She is survived by her husband Joseph Kaszczuk, sons Robert E. (Geraldine) Kaszczuk, Joseph R. Kaszczuk and Michael J. (Linda) Kaszczuk. Grandchildren Shana (Jeremy) Peterson, Nicholus (Lisa) Kaszczuk, Alex Kaszczuk and Aaron Kaszczuk. Sisters Annie Branca, Elizabeth Marcella, Delores Cote and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, sisters Jennie Rubon and Theresa Frick, brothers James, Fred, Frank and Anthony Santamaria. Nieces Rose Marie Konowski and Mary Anne Branca.



Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 3, 2009 in the Cathedral of St. Peter with the Rev. Kevin Butler officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass in the Cathedral. Entombment in Calvary Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Poor Clares Corpus Christi Monastery, 2111 S. Main St., Rockford, IL 61102.
